I just finished it but I don't remember what units were for that level, but you do lose units if the enemy planes fly all the way across to your side.

They also lose units if your planes get all the way across to their side. If the level does allow the air force, it's best to conquer the sky first with fighters and jets, so they're the ones losing units. I cant beat the aerial mission, I am lvl 21 there. No matter what I build, I get absolutely hammered by what the computer brings. Any help? Yeah, I managed to beat it finally.. I changed some upgrades maxing out the overall unit strength etc and building all planes etc, continuesly.
