The pageant will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma in November. Gundelly is also a pre-med student at New York University, where she wrapped up her freshman year less than a week before competing for her new title. She said her mother inspired her to go into the medical field.

While she acknowledged she will be busy, Gundelly said she wants to stay involved in pageantry in some way. Her dream is to one day compete on the Miss USA stage. Shreya is the first Indian-American to hold this title - I talked to her about what that means and what she hopes to do with her platform.
